Free ESL Classes
Classes will start September 2026. Online registration is required and will open on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 5:00 AM.
During the school year, free ESL (English as a Second Language) classes are offered on Friday mornings at The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC. This program provides beginner to advanced-level curriculum. Emphasis is on conversation with English speakers. Click on the buttons below if interested in attending or volunteering.

Our free ESL (English as a Second Language) classes start in September and run throughout the school school year. There is no test to take. There are 5 levels of classes (from beginner to advanced). Fall semester begins in September. Registration for 2026/2027 opens August 3. For more information, contact Laura Reak at esl@shepherds.org.

May – 7, 14 (End-of-Year Party)

Directions: Upon arriving at the church, drive in the Tryon Rd entrance that has a traffic light across from Harris Teeter store. Do not park in the first parking lot on your left. Continue to the next parking lot. Enter the building through the West Entrance doors (see picture). Once inside, there will be green ESL signs to direct you to our meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Family Center. We hope to see you soon!

Volunteer Opportunities
Shepherd’s English as a Second Language Classes meet from 9:30-11:30 AM on Fridays here at The Shepherd’s Church. Volunteers come from 9:15-11:45 am.
At ESL we work with internationals to build relationships and share in their lives. We also have adults who care for the children of our students each Friday.
