Precept Upon Precept — Genesis Parts 4-5 and Exodus

    Tuesdays / 1:00-2:30 PM / September 9, 2025–March 31, 2026 / Room FC201

Throughout this one-year study, we will witness God reaffirming His covenant with Abraham through Isaac and Jacob. Additionally, our examination of Joseph’s life will serve as a guide for navigating painful experiences and perceived injustices.

As we transition into Exodus, we will trace Moses’ growth as a leader and observe God’s deliverance of His people through judgment upon their adversaries. We will uncover profound insights into His character and methods, engaging in a highly practical exploration of deliverance, redemption, the Law and the Tabernacle.

    WOW – Women of Wisdom:

    Jonah, Nahum & Acts

    Wednesdays / 9:30-11:45 AM /   September 10, 2025 – April 29, 2026 / The Lodge (Family Center)

For we cannot but speak the things which we have heard. (Acts 4:18b)

W.O.W. (Women of Wisdom) is sound Bible study, aimed directly at Biblical literacy.

Daily lessons for personal study begin the excavation of the depth of God’s Word. Weekly small-group discussion followed by worship in song and large-group lecture allow iron to sharpen iron as we spend our Wednesday mornings together. Fellowship with these ladies is sure to lead to Godly friendships!

God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, the most wicked Assyrian city of the day, to preach a message. God also called the apostles of Acts to preach among haters, but these men preached while newly filled with the Holy Spirit – a first. Maybe God called YOU to study His Word with us and tell others of Him. Join us as we start in the OT, looking into the depths of why Jonah said no (at first), and follow to the NT, to see why the apostles said yes – even to the death. We look forward to learning from Jonah, understanding Nahum and recognizing the Holy Spirit’s effect in the lives of those spreading the Gospel in Acts.

For those where distance or health prevents attendance, we would love to invite you to our virtual group via Zoom. Email WOW@shepherds.org for more information.

    Homework: 2.5 hours/week
    Cost: $35/Year

In and Out Precept Study — Kings & Prophets Parts 4-8, Obadiah, Joel, Jonah and Amos, Hosea

    Wednesdays / 6:30-8:00 PM / September 10, 2025–April 1, 2026 / FC204

    “Where are you going?”

Obadiah, Joel, Jonah and Amos are all minor prophets who had messages for the people of their times. Some of the prophets were running from God, some called the people to return to God with their whole heart, and some proclaimed the coming judgement of God.  Join us in this year-long study on how people today can be prepared to meet their God, learn more about God’s character, and how your heart and be stirred to proclaim the warning with hope for those who will listen.

In the spring, we’ll watch God raise up a Gentile threat (Assyria) to Israel as its kings continue the spiritual descent begun by Jeroboam-compromising with idols and refusing to repent at the warnings of prophets Elijah and Elisha.  Sound familiar? This study is sure to have a major impact on your walk with the Lord.  Then we will turn to Hosea, who was the last prophet in the Northern Kingdom of Israel before they were taken captive to Assyria. In Hosea you can learn how God deals with those who turn away from Him and about a love that will not let you go.

      Women of Prayer

      About Women of Prayer

Small groups of women, of all ages, are meeting one hour a week to pray for one another.  We believe that “the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” (James 5:16b). These groups are following a structured, Scripture-based approach that encourages seeking God’s face before seeking His hand. As women seek God’s face and pray His Word together, the following occurs:

      E
      • Community Replaces Isolation
      • Peace Replaces Anxiety
      • Unity of the Spirit Replaces Division
      • Ministries Produce Fruit that Remains
      • Personal and Churchwide Revival Occurs
